Professional Counseling for Individuals, Families, and Organizations
New Leaf Resources provides professional counseling to people across the Chicagoland area, Northwest Indiana, and surrounding areas via onsite and teletherapy. We work with children, teens, adults, couples, and families — and we partner with businesses, churches, and schools to bring mental health support to the people they serve.

How We Help
Whatever you're carrying — anxiety, grief, a struggling relationship, a hard season — you don't have to figure it out alone. Our therapists are trained to help people work through the things that get in the way of living whole, healthy lives.
Individual Counseling
One-on-one therapy for adults, teens, and children navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, addiction, eating disorders, ADHD, and more. We'll match you with a therapist whose training and approach fit your specific needs.
Couples & Marriage Counseling
Support for couples navigating conflict, communication breakdown, trust issues, or major life changes. Our therapists work with both partners to build healthier patterns — and help relationships find their footing again.
Family Counseling
Therapy for families working through conflict, parenting challenges, divorce, blended family transitions, domestic violence recovery, and relational strain. We work with the whole family system — not just individual symptoms.
Therapeutic Modalities and Approaches
Our therapists are trained in evidence-based approaches, often utilizing an eclectic approach that addresses trauma, emotional regulation, and complex mental health needs — including:
- EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) — for trauma and PTSD
- DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) — for emotional regulation and self-harm
- Trauma-Based Mindfulness — grounding and resilience-focused care
- Play Therapy — for children who process best through creative expression
- CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) — focuses on challenging negative thought patterns and changing behaviors.
- ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) — encourages accepting difficult emotions while taking action aligned with personal values.
- Expressive art - healing practices that use creative processes such as writing, music, art, storytelling and breath work therapies to enhance emotional, physical and mental well-being
- Somatic Experiencing — focuses on the mind-body connection to release stored trauma through physical awareness

For Businesses & Organizations
Healthy employees build healthy organizations. We can help with both.
New Leaf partners with small to mid-sized businesses and organizations to address the mental health needs that show up at work — conflict, burnout, family stress that spills into performance, and leadership strain. We serve as a trusted referral source and consultation partner, not a one-size-fits-all EAP replacement.
Services for businesses include:
- Employee assessment and referral for counseling needs
- Conflict resolution and team dynamics
- Leadership consultation
- Consultation for family-owned businesses navigating complex relational dynamics
- Workplace relationship consultation
For Pastors & Churches
Churches carry a lot. We're here to help carry it with you.
New Leaf has deep roots in the faith community. We understand the unique pressures pastors, church staff, and congregational leaders face — and we're equipped to support both individuals and the health of the whole team. We also serve as a trusted counseling referral source for church members who need professional care beyond pastoral support. We have deep respect for the weight pastors carry. As a reflection of that, we offer a discounted counseling rate specifically for pastors and ministry staff.
Services for churches include:
- Counseling for pastors, youth directors, and church staff
- Church leadership conflict resolution
- Counseling referral for congregation members
- Educational presentations on relationships, emotional health, and mental wellness
- Team building for church staff
For Schools
Students thrive when their mental health is supported. We help make that happen.
New Leaf provides in-school counseling, assessments, and educational programming for Christian schools and partner schools across Northwest Indiana and Chicagoland. We coordinate with school counselors and administrators to bring licensed care directly to students — reducing barriers and keeping families connected to support.
Services for schools include:
- On-site individual counseling and assessment
- Educational presentations on bullying, mental health, mutual respect, and more
- Crisis response and referral support
- Staff and educator workshops on trauma-informed practices and burnout prevention
