Join a Team That Does This Work Because It Matters

New Leaf Resources has been serving individuals and families in the Chicagoland Area and Northwest Indiana for more than 40 years. We're a Christian nonprofit counseling organization built on a simple conviction: everyone deserves quality mental health care, regardless of what they can afford.

We're growing — and we're looking for licensed therapists and intake staff who feel called to this kind of work, not just searching for their next position.

Why New Leaf Is Different

Most counseling agencies pay therapists a percentage of the fees they collect. That model quietly rewards therapists who fill their caseload with full-fee clients — and creates pressure that shapes every clinical decision. We chose a different structure from the start.

Salaried, Not Commission-Based

Therapists at New Leaf are paid a salary or hourly rate — not a percentage of what clients pay. Your income isn't tied to your clients' financial situation. That means you can focus entirely on best-fit matches and best-possible care.

A Real Team, Not Independent Contractors

We take a collaborative approach to therapy. Therapists consult on cases together, support one another, and draw on the full expertise of the staff. If you've worked in isolation before, this feels meaningfully different.

Faith That Runs Through Everything

Our Christian foundation isn't a program feature — it's how we approach care, culture, and community. Clients choose how much faith integration they want. Our staff shares a commitment to the mission and finds a team that takes it seriously.

Three Locations, One Mission

We have openings across all three offices: Crown Point, IN; Wheatfield, IN; and Lansing, IL. Part-time and full-time options are available. We'll work with you to find the right fit for your schedule and strengths.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary or hourly rate based on credentials, licensure, and experience
  • Supportive team culture with regular case consultation and peer collaboration
  • A client base that reflects the full community — not just those who can pay full fees
  • Caseload development matched to your strengths and specialties
  • A workplace built on Christian values, practiced daily
  • Part-time and full-time options across all three locations

We're a nonprofit, so we'll be honest: we can't compete with large health systems on compensation alone. What we offer is a place to do genuinely meaningful work, with people who care about the same things you do.

For Licensed Therapists

Do the work you trained for — with a team built to support you.

We're actively hiring Staff Therapists at all three locations. Our therapists work with individuals, couples, and families across a wide range of presenting concerns — anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, addiction, relationship challenges, and more. You bring the clinical skill and the calling. We'll provide the structure, the team, and the clients.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Master's degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or a related field
  • Active Illinois or Indiana licensure (LCPC, LCSW, LMFT) or license-eligible
  • Commitment to professional, compassionate, client-centered care
  • Alignment with New Leaf's Christian mission and values

For Intake & Administrative Candidates

The first voice someone hears matters more than most people realize.

We're hiring an Administrative Support Specialist at our Lansing, IL and Crown Point, IN locations. This role is a blend of warm hospitality and administrative precision — helping people take a first step that often takes real courage. You'll manage inquiries, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and make sure every person who reaches out feels genuinely welcomed from the first contact.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills — phone, email, and in-person
  • Experience in a healthcare, counseling, or nonprofit administrative setting (preferred)
  • Comfort with confidentiality, sensitive conversations, and HIPAA compliance
  • A calm, patient presence — especially with people in difficult moments
